Glenn "Sonny" Taylor

Glenn “Sonny” Taylor, age 78, of Creighton, Missouri, departed this life on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at his home in Creighton, Missouri. He was born on July 20, 1947, in Harrisonville, Missouri, the son of Glenn and Maxine (Conrad) Taylor.

Sonny was a man who truly enjoyed life and the simple pleasures it had to offer. He loved spending time hunting, fishing, and golfing, and was happiest when outdoors or surrounded by family and friends. Known for his kind heart and forgiving nature, Sonny was the type of person who never held a grudge and always welcomed others with understanding and compassion.

Sonny proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1966 until 1968. During his military service, he received numerous honors and awards, including two Purple Hearts for his bravery and sacrifice.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Maxine Taylor; and his beloved wife, Barbara Taylor.

He is survived by his sons, Ryan Taylor and Matthew Taylor; his nephew, Brian Akins; his granddaughters, Carly Griffin and Chloe Taylor; his siblings, Gary Taylor, George Taylor, Ruth Akins, Glenda Sims, Freda Blair, and Judy Felton; along with other relatives and many friends who will deeply miss him.

Cremation with a Celebration of Life will be held 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Freedom Point Church, Garden City, Missouri.
