Harold R. Hutchens

Harold Russel Hutchens of Pittsburg, Missouri was born February 17, 1940 in Harrisonville, Missouri the son of Preston Yule and Ada Francis (Wolf) Hutchens. He departed this life on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Spring Valley Health and Rehab, Springfield, Missouri at the age of 80 years, 9 months and 20 days.

On January 2, 1961, Harold was united in marriage to Sondra Gail Bronson in Peculiar, Missouri.

Harold was a diesel mechanic and a member of the Operating Engineer Union Local #101, Kansas City, Missouri until his retirement in 2000 where he worked at Clarkson Construction, Kansas City. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved to whittle.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sondra Hutchens on April 4, 2010 and a son, Eric Linn Hutchens on September 6, 1988.

Harold is survived by a son, Kraig Lynn Hutchens, Belton, Missouri; a daughter, Harolene Baumgartner and husband, Brian, Basehor, Kansas; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Hutchens, Basehor, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Brooke Ellen Norman and Amber Gail Letzig, Gage Silas Hutchens and Emmie Louise Hutchens, Kristina Nicole Poole, Skiler Dawn Foster and Courtney Marie Pierce; 5 great-grandchildren, Avery, Caroline, Quincy, Eloise and Reagan; three siblings, Alice Ballard, Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Carolyn Combs, Pittsburg, Missouri and Marvin Hutchens, Warsaw, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.


Cremation. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2020 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.

Military service will be 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2020 at the funeral home.
