Helen Elaine Sisk King Famuliner was born May 6, 1928 to Buford and Blanche Russell Sisk. Helen had a brother, Darrell Emerson Sisk born December 19, 1925.

Helen attended grade school and high school in Garden City, graduating in May 1946. She married her high school sweetheart, Keith King, in June, 1946 at the Baptist parsonage in Harrisonville, MO. Keith has been MIA in Korea since August 6, 1952. His death was presumed in February, 1954. His remains have not been found as of this date.

August 23, 1956, Helen married Frank Famuliner at the Garden City Baptist Church. They made their home on the farm west of Garden City until May, 2005. They bought a house in Harrisonville where they celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 2006. Two months later, Frank passed away in October, 2006. Helen remained in the family home at 1301 Charles St., Harrisonville, until July 2021 when she became a resident at Crown Care and Rehab.

Helen’s working career began as a Certified Dental Assistant from 1957 to 1970. She then worked at the USDA-ASCS office from 1970 until her retirement in 1988.

Helen was an active member of several organizations including the Harrisonville United Methodist Church having served as a trustee; National Association of Retired Federal Employees; National Association of Retired ASCS Office Employees; Gold Star Wives of America, Inc.; Korean War Veterans Association, Inc.; Korean War Veterans National Museum & Library; American Legion Auxiliary, Post #498; 7th Infantry Division Association; 32nd Infantry Regional Association; Eastern Star, and Business and Professional Women.

Helen loved to sew and was a skilled seamstress – making most all of her own clothing. Her love of sewing grew to include quilting, with many beautiful hand appliqued and embroidered details.

Helen is survived by nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2026 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with interment at Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri. 

Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2026 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to One Community Hospice and sent in care to Dickey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 432, Harrisonville, Missouri 64701.
