Hunter Matthew Morton passed away on February 12th, 2022. He was 14 years old.
Hunter was born on June 14, 2007, in Lee’s Summit, MO the son of Jason Matthew and Kristie Lynn (Rough) Morton. He was a son, brother, nephew, cousin, grandson, and friend. He spent most of his time playing video games, playing sports, and being involved with the community. He even set up a food pantry at his church.
Hunter was someone you could always count on. He would do anything and everything for his friends and family. If you needed your lawn mowed, he was there. If you needed a hug, he was there. He would always go out of his way to make sure someone was having a good day.
His smile and bright blue eyes were just a couple of his many good things about him. He was handsome, caring, kind, patient, smart, funny, and perfect. If you knew him, you loved him.
His favorite sport was wrestling. He loved being able to win matches and to have his dad as his coach. He also loved going to church and being involved with the youth group. He loved spending time with his friends and family every chance he could.
Hunter is survived by his father and mother, Jason and Kristie Morton; three sisters, Taylor, Kaylie and Jalinn, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and many other loved ones. He was preceded in death by his Papa, Carl Rough; MeMaw, Jerry Lamar and many other great grandparents.
Cremation. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday February 20, 2022 in The Dome at the Archie School, 302 W. State Route A, Archie, Missouri 64725 with inurnment immediately following the service in the Austin Cemetery near Archie, Missouri
Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 20, 2022 at the school.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made the United Methodist Church of Archie Food Pantry which Hunter helped start.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
