Imogene Louise Turner, 65, of Lee’s Summit, was born July 3, 1949, in the last house on Brick House Road in Knobtown, Missouri. She was the daughter of Eugene and Lillian Louise Maines Nicholson. She departed this life at 1:15 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the Kansas City Hospice House surrounded with love and family.
Imogene was a 1967 Lee’s Summit High School graduate.
On June 3, 1967, she was united in marriage to Jack Dean Turner at the High Point Baptist Church, Raytown.
Imogene was a homemaker and a dedicated babysitter to all her grandchildren. She loved to camp, fish, and spending time at the casino’s; most importantly was spending time and spoiling her grandchildren. She was a former member of the Lee’s Summit Bible church.
Imogene was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Fern Shipley; her sister in law, Grace Nicholson and one grandson, Jake Turner.
She is survived by her husband Jack of the home; two sons Troy D. (and Stephanie) Turner and Chad E. (and Lisa) Turner all of Lee’s Summit; five grandchildren, Ty Turner, Trey Turner, Chazli Turner, Jaclyn Turner, and Tate Turner, all of Lee’s Summit; two brothers, Gary (and Connie) Nicholson of Lee’s Summit, and Darrell Nicholson of Norwood, Missouri; one brother-in-law Jay Shipley of Lee’s Summit, MO; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 26, 2015, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Reverend Roger Pickard of the Lee’s Summit Bible church will officiate. A short Graveside service will be in the Adams Cemetery, Lone Jack.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kansas City Hospice House and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
