Janet Marie Henderson

Janet Marie Henderson (Ayler) of Harrisonville, MO was born January 28th 1958 in Warrensburg, MO the daughter of D.C Ayler and Lucille Sexton. She departed this life on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 Christmas Eve peacefully with her children by her side at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, MO at the age of 67 years old.

Janet was a homemaker for the early part of her life after getting married and having a daughter Tracy and a son Travis before venturing out in the service industry, where she spent many years working at Scott’s BBQ as a cook and bartender. Making many friends along the way. She went on to work at Limpus Quarries where she was so proud to be the first woman rock crusher for them and crushed over a million pounds of material.

Janet was very adventurous and loved to travel. She also liked to test her luck gambling where she once won “Big” and took her trip of a lifetime to Paris for 19 days.

More than anything she loved spending time with family and friends. She was known to be the life of the party on many occasions. She loved her kids and grandchildren fiercely and was proud of every one of them. She may have been a petite woman but had the heart and fight of a warrior. Her spunky, stubborn attitude will be what we remember so fondly.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Beverly Copeland and twin brothers.

She is survived by two children, daughter Tracy Carver and son Travis Moore and wife Ashley of Harrisonville, MO. Four grandchildren, Misty Carver-Ramirez, Jason Carver, Kindra Moore and Koltin Moore. Two brothers Chet and Ronnie Ayler and three sisters Debbie Ayler, Cheryl Cowan and Carol Ayler Bandy. And so many friends.

Cremation with a celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2026 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.

Visitation will be held 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2026 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
