Janet Lorraine Castle, 66, of Kansas City, Missouri, was born, May 28, 1954, in Ft. Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Cora (Adkins) Castle. She departed this life, Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Janet attended the William Chrisman High School in Independence, Missouri.

Janet was employed as an Assistant Health Care Provider last working for the Wilshire at Lakewood Care Center in Lee’s Summit. She enjoyed crafting, cooking and baking, attending musical concerts and listening to music. Janet was a woman of deep faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and loved reading the Bible and books related to her faith in God.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Cora; one son, Dustin Schupback; three brothers, infant Everett Earl Castle, Dale Castle, and Leroy Castle; and two sisters, Linda Gordon and Karen Armstrong.

She is survived by her son, Michael Weaver of Grain Valley; her daughter, Angelia (and Bobby) Weaver-Brown of Brooksville, Florida; four grandchildren, Mikayla Schupback of Independence, Blake Brown of Brooksville, Michael Weaver, Jr. of Grain Valley, and Allison Weaver of Grain Valley; two sisters, Betty “B.J.” (and Philip) Castle-Nikkel of Loveland, Colorado, and Laurie Houston of Huachuca City, Arizona; brother-in-law, Charles Armstrong, Sr. of Pleasant Hill, brother-in-law Melvin Gordon of Angleton, Texas, sister-in-law, Beverly Castle of Fredonia, Kansas; nieces and nephews, Shelly (and Mark) Journey of Linwood, Kansas, Sherry (and Kirk) Ketcham of Newman, Georgia, Kristy (and Kent) Livingston, Kelly (and Keith) Boehmke, and Charles Armstrong, Jr., all of Pleasant Hill; Sean (and Kim) Gordon of Angleton, Todd (and Keri) Gordon of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Jonathan (and Elizabeth) Nikkel of Santa Maria, California, Christopher Nikkel of Loveland, Jackie Castle-Leftwich of Fredonia, Kansas, and Bryan Castle of Fredonia, Kansas.

Cremation has been accorded. A celebration of Janet’s life will be shared on a Zoom meeting with family and friends. Details for that will be published by the Stanley Dickey Funeral Home. In addition, a service will be held at a later date in Spring 2021. Service time will be published on the funeral home website when that information becomes available.
