Jean Norton

Mrs. Norma Jean Norton of Harrisonville, Missouri was born February 13, 1931 in Salina, Kansas the daughter of Clifford Elmer and Lenora F. (Kelsey) Heidebrecht. She departed this life Saturday, May 20, 2006, Crown Care Center, Harrisonville, at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 7 days.
On, August 25, 1949, Jean was united in marriage to Duane Eldon Norton in Haven, Kansas.
Jean was employed as a telephone operator for Consolidated Telephone Company, Haven Kansas until her retirement. She was a member of Twin Pines Country Club, Harrisonville. She was an avid fisherman, enjoyed oil painting and writing poetry. Jean had moved to Harrisonville in 1970.
Besides her parents, Jean was preceded in death by two daughters, Kathy Jean Norton in 1951 and Bonnie Franse on December 13, 2002.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Duane E. Norton of the home; a son, Mike Norton, Warsaw, Missouri; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Cremation with memorial graveside services were held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville under the direction of Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville. Family suggests contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
