Jennifer Leigh Langley of Independence, Missouri was born February 1, 1976 in Inglewood, California the daughter of Jackie Eugene and Marilyn Jean (Zimmerman) Langley. She departed this life on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at her home in Independence at the age of 43 years, 4 months and 10 days.
Jennifer was a colorful, exuberant young woman, with lots of personality, who was a long-time resident of the Austen-Dooley Company, a provider for individuals with special needs. Jennifer enjoyed community outings, such as eating strawberry pancakes at IHOP, listening to her favorite songs, including “I Hope you Dance” by Lee Ann Womack, laying all the way back in her wheelchair while sleeping and drinking O’Doul’s. Jennifer had a number of long-term friends at Austen-Dooley and will be greatly missed by her friends and family at the company.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn.
Jennifer is survived by her father, Jackie Langley of Memphis, Tennessee; a half-brother, James Langley and a half-sister, Kim Waugh; other relatives and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life service was held Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. Cremation.
