Jim Earl Sheppard, of LaTour, Missouri, was born June 15, 1934 at Walnut Grove, Missouri the son of George Arthur and Flora Alma (Davis) Sheppard. He departed this life Friday, September 9, 2005, Research Belton Hospital, Belton, Missouri at the age of 71 years, 2 months and 24 days.
On August 14, 1954, Jim was united in marriage to Annetta C. Hill in Springfield, Missouri.
Jim was employed as a parts chaser for General Motors - Leeds Plant, Kansas City, Missouri until his retirement in June, 1982. He then operated Shep's Taxidermist in LaTour. Jim was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church, near LaTour, UAW #93, Kansas City and the NRA. He was an outdoors person, enjoying hunting and fishing. Jim never met a stranger.
Besides his parents, He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Lindy Michelle Sheppard; one brother, Donald Sheppard.
He is survived by his wife, Annetta Sheppard of the home; two sons, Mike Sheppard and wife Robby, Amsterdam, Missouri and Rick D. Sheppard, Garden City, Missouri; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Dean Sheppard, North Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters, Nancy Melton, Springfield, Missouri and Erma Reed, Sugar Creek, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Latour, Missouri. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Missouri Department of Conservation.
