Jimmie Dean Harris of Garden City, Missouri was born on October 17, 1957 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas to Marvin Dean Harris and Frankie Delores (Leuty) Harris. He went home to Jesus on January 16, 2025 at the age of 67.
After graduating from Sherwood High School, Jimmie worked as a union carpenter. He married Sheila Harris (Breshears) on September 3, 2016.
Jimmie was a member of the Garden City United Methodist Church for many years. He loved his community, including his friends, family, and strangers, and loved his grandkids more than anything. He loved to spend his weekends at his grandkids’ events or going to car shows and he was very proud of his own white Chevy truck. He was a collector and loved to go to antique stores. He loved to spend time at home with his wife, watching football, the races, Westerns, Wheel of Fortune, and Bob Ross in his recliner. He loved going on road trips with his wife and going to visit loved ones in Arkansas. Jimmie was always known to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
Jimmie is preceded in death by his brother, Danny Harris, and nephew, Derrick Harris. He is survived by his parents Marvin Dean Harris and Frankie Delores (Leuty) Harris; his wife Sheila Harris; his children: Kristin Carver and husband, Tony; Robert Harris and wife, Brittany; Steven Harris; Jana Riggs and husband, John; and Benjamin Grieser and wife, Samantha; his grandchildren: Cooper, Alice, Emily, Gayle, Kendry, Dawson, Elizabeth, Nathaniel, Lilli, and Willow; and his siblings: Rhonda Hernandez and husband, David; Frankie Harris; and Janet Milburn: and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Visitation will be held 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2025 at Heart of Life Church, Garden City, Missouri.
Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2025 at Heart of Life Church, Garden City, Missouri with Interment at Byler Cemetery, Creighton, Missouri.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Garden City United Methodist Church Memorial Fund and sent to Dickey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 432, Harrisonville, Missouri 64701.
