John Walton

John Walton of Harrisonville, Missouri was born March 11, 1928 in Glencoe, Oklahoma the son of John Henry and Della Margaret (Beckett) Walton. He departed this life on Monday, September 8, 2008 at Cass Regional Medical Center, Harrisonville, Missouri at the age of 80 years, 5 months and 27 days.
On March 1, 1948, John was united in marriage to Verla Nadine Nance in Claremore, Oklahoma.
John was employed as a pipe fitter from 1951 until 2008 with Local 533 of the Pipe Fitters Union, Kansas City, Missouri. He and his wife, Nadine formerly owned and operated ?The Freeze? in Harrisonville from 1981 until 1991. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed his family and motorcycle riding. John had lived in Clinton, Missouri before moving to Harrisonville in 1969.
Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by a son, John M. Walton on April 10, 2007; a grandson, John Paul Walton and a daughter-in-law, Rita Elam.
He is survived by his wife, Nadine Walton of the home; three sons, Gary Walton and Jeff Walton both of Harrisonville, Missouri, Doug Walton and wife, Judy, Garden City, Missouri; a daughter, Lynne Moore and husband, Bryan, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 12, 2008 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.
