Johnnie Fredrick Unzicker of Kansas City, Missouri was born March 24, 1926 in Gibson City, Illinois the son of John and Wilhelmina Elizabeth (Fischer) Unzicker. He departed this life Thursday, January 12, 2006, Indian Hills Nursing & Rehab Center, Sioux City, Iowa at the age of 79 years, 9 months and 18 days.
On November 24, 1951, Johnnie was united in marriage to Bonnie Jean Bradley in Kansas City, Missouri.
Johnnie was employed in quality control and earlier was an assembler for Ford Motor Company at the Claycomo Plant, Kansas City, Missouri until his retirement in 1982. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the 44th. Tank Battalion in the Asiatic - Pacific Theatre. Johnnie was a member of the UAW Local 249, Kansas City, Missouri. He had lived in Garden City and Kansas City, Missouri before moving to Sioux City in 2005.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie on December 31, 2003 and an infant daughter, Susan Lynn Unzicker.
He is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 15, 2006 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with interment in the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
Family suggests contributions may be made to Hospice of Siouxland.
