Jon Michael Hildebrand, 64, of Harrisonville MO, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Cox Medical Center, with his loving Wife Bev and Sister Tonya by his side.
Jon was born in Kansas City Missouri, on December 6, 1959 to Lester and Patricia Hildebrand. His younger years were spent living in Kansas City but during his teenage years the family moved to the country, Holt Missouri. He is a graduate of Lathrop High School, class of 1978.
Right out of high school he hired on at Honey Well at the Kansas City plant. Going through their Electrician Apprentice program and working his way up,earning the Master electrician certification. With 45 years with the company, he retired December 2020.
In his younger married years Jon and the family would go to Pomme de Terre lake for weekend fun; camping, boating, and fishing. Liking the area so well he purchased land and built Cedar Ridge Storage which him and Bev own and operate today.
Residing in Harrisonville his whole adult life, Jon truly enjoyed living out in the country. He was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed fixing anything that was broken as well as working and maintaining the storage units. There was no task he was not up to taking on and accomplishing. He also took pride in maintaining his property both in Harrisonville and the lake.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, going for little outings with Bev, spending time at the lake and playing with his dog Gracie Jewel. He was an active member of Abundant Life Church.
Jon will be remembered for his witty sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh. He made friends wherever he went.
He is survived by his Wife Bev; children: Melissa Cambell and Levi Horseman (Jackie); Sister Tonya Overmyer; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Alice and his parents.
He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, supportive father, devoted grandfather, and caring brother. He lived his life in Christ. He will be missed and loved by many. We are so grateful for his life.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 9th from 6pm-8pm at Dickey Funeral Home located at 2401 E. Mechanic St, Harrisonville, Missouri 6470. Services will be Tuesday, September 10th at 10:30am, same location.
