Joyce E. Marble

Joyce E. Marble, 85, of Garden City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on August 18, 2026. She was born on January 24, 1941, to Homer Burris Baldwin and Mildred Elaine (Weiss) Baldwin.

Joyce married the love of her life, Rodger Marble, on December 31, 1960, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri. Together, they shared 65 years of marriage. Her husband and her home were the two greatest things in Joyce’s life. She took great pride in being a homemaker and in caring for the home they shared. Her love and devotion to Rodger and her family were evident in all she did.

Joyce worked for several seasons for the IRS and several years for the Marine Corps finance center in Kansas City, MO. Her final years before retiring she worked with her husband in their home.

Joyce worked out at Cass Regional Medical Center in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit, where she made many wonderful friends throughout the years. She enjoyed the friendships she made while going through her weekly workouts.

A woman of many talents, Joyce loved painting and creating beautiful ceramic pieces. She made ceramic dolls and merry-go-round horses, putting time, care, and creativity into each one. She also had a generous heart and enjoyed making blankets for Mercy Hospital. One of her special traditions was delivering blankets for babies at Christmas, a simple act of kindness that brought comfort to others.

Joyce will be remembered for her love of her husband, her pride in her home, her creative spirit, and the kindness she showed to others. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and the love of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Rodger Marble; her sister, Carol M. Baldwin Eplee; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer Burris Baldwin and Mildred Elaine (Weiss) Baldwin; her older sister, Rosemary Baldwin Carpenter; her older brother, Homer Baldwin Jr.; and her younger sister, Carolyn Baldwin Polfer.

Joyce’s life was one of love, devotion, creativity, and caring for others. She will be deeply missed by her husband, family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.
