June Fiormonti age 90 of Elkhorn, Nebraska departed this life Saturday, March 30 , 2013 at the Marquis Place of Elkhorn, Elkhorn, Nebraska.
A Graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri. Family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m. at the chapel.
Oneita “June” Knight Fiormonti of Omaha Nebraska passed peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2013. She was two months shy of her 91st birthday. She was preceded in death by Richard, her husband of 59 years; her parents Opha and Eunice Knight and her sister, Reva Mae Dunn.
June is survived by her daughter Carol Lambert (Lynn) of Elkhorn NE, her son Tom of (Porterville CA) and daughter Grace Page (Bob) of Columbia MD. She was blessed with seven grandchildren – Kristen, Jennifer, Christopher, Ryan, Griffith, Charley and Jamie and five great-grandchildren; Chelsey, Brady, Leo, Iris and Ruby.
June was born in Neola Iowa and raised in Garden City, MO; graduating from Garden City High School in 1940. After graduating from high school, June worked various jobs in Kansas City, including the old Jenkins Music Company. She left Kansas City and headed Dallas and then to California and settled in Stockton in 1945. She met Richard Fiormonti and they were married in 1946. Shortly after Richard’s death in 2004, she decided to move to Omaha to be closer to her daughter Carol and her five great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included gardening, reading, crocheting, garage sale shopping, sweets and her two cats Ginger and Mitzie.
