Larry Wray Pulliam, 73, of Harrisonville, Missouri was born July 11, 1942, near Garden City, Missouri, the son of Bates and Mary Pulliam. He departed this life on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at his home surrounded by his wife, Sue, and sons, Matt and Brian Pulliam.
Larry was a graduate of the Archie High School class of 1960.
On November 23, 1963, he was united in marriage to Sue Morrow at the United Methodist Church in Adrian, Missouri. They settled in Harrisonville, where built their lifelong home in 1967 and raised their two sons, Matt and Brian and still reside there.
Larry was a pipefitter, starting his career at Bendix Corporation, then worked at the General Motors Leeds Plant in Kansas City, Missouri until its closure. He then continued his career at the Honeywell Corporation in Kansas City until his retirement in 2000.
He was an avid quail hunter until his body aged and the quail started thining in the fields. He loved his hunting dogs, having many over the years, until they wore out also. Fishing was also his passion, having grown up near the Grand River, fishing it often and taking an occasion swim.
He is survived by his wife Sue of 51 years; Matt and wife Holly of Ozark, Missouri; grandchildren David, Jordan, and Shiloh; and son Brian of Harrisonville. Surviving siblings, Richard of Harrisonville, Gary of Urich, Shirley Strausbaugh of Harrisonville, many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and a host of many friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 21, 2015 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. Burial will be in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.
