Lena Faye Knox Brannock

Lena Faye (Yadon) Knox-Brannock, 87, was born, October 27, 1929, in Pleasant Hill, the daughter of William H. and Eunice V. (Whitehead) Yadon. She was a lifelong resident of Cass County. She departed this life at 11:25 p.m. Sunday,February 12, 2017, at the Meadow View Care Center, Harrisonville.
Faye was a 1947 Pleasant Hill High School graduate.
On October 23, 1948, she was united in marriage to Maurice M. Knox in Peculiar; he preceded her in death on March 18, 2003. On August 9, 2009, she was united in marriage to Robert Brannock in Pleasant Hill; he survives.
Faye was a baton twirling instructor during her high school years. She was employed by the Grace Sewing Company in Belton, as a school bus driver for the Ray-Pec school district, and the Head Start Program in Harrisonville. She was a founding member of the Big Creek Baptist Church and a member of the National Rifle Association. She loved sightseeing, taking trips, camping, going to Colorado to visit and see the mountains and wildlife, and spending time around a campfire. She recently fell in love with Cowboy Mounted Shooting.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Maurice, and one sister, Jennie Bowman.
She is survived by her husband Robert Brannock of Pleasant Hill; three sons, Danny (and Sheryl) Knox of Archie, Jerry Knox of La Veta, Colorado, Sammy (and Tamara) Knox of Harrisonville, and one daughter, Carol Knox of Pleasant Hill; two sisters, Velma Campbell of Pleasant Hill, and Violet Simmerman of Clinton; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, with one on the way; 2 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
