Lisa Eileen Freeland of Butler, Missouri, was born on November 24, 1973, in Harrisonville, Missouri. She was the oldest of two children born to Harry and Lois (Walker) Freeland. She went home to be with our Lord on August 26, 2026, at the age of 52.
She joined and was baptized at the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Adrian, Missouri at the age of 7, where she remained a lifelong member. She graduated from Sherwood Cass R-8 High School in Creighton, Missouri in 1992.
After graduating, she worked various jobs, primarily as a receptionist until moving to Elk City, Oklahoma in 2003. She then worked as a highly successful sales representative for Avon, earning a top sales trip to New York City. She moved back to Creighton, Missouri in 2013, where she then began working as a Traumatic Brain Injury Specialist supporting clients across the metro. From 2014 to 2016 she was mayor of Creighton, Missouri. After being mayor, she moved to Butler, Missouri and began work for the Butler Water District. During her time at the Water District, she started taking classes in 2020 to become a certified life coach. She started her life coaching business, Follow Your Dreams, in Butler, Missouri in April 2021. She continued working for the Water District and in her business until her passing.
Lisa was a devoted and affectionate daughter, sister, and aunt. She enjoyed spending Saturdays with her nieces at tea rooms, taking painting classes, watching movies, playing board games, reading, and traveling. She found joy and hope in spending time in God’s creation, always pausing to capture the beauty of each sunset and rainbow.
Lisa is preceded in death by her mother, Lois Freeland.
Lisa is survived by her father, Harry Freeland of Creighton, Missouri; brother and sister-in-law, Jeffery and Terri Freeland of Blue Springs, Missouri; three nieces, Lauren and Kristen Freeland of Blue Springs, Missouri and Summer Preston of Urich, Missouri; and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, church family, and friends.
Lisa will be remembered for her soft and affectionate spirit, her encouraging nature, her humor, her caring heart for others, her love of music, the light she carried for Christ, and her beautiful smile.
