Mrs. Ida Mae Cox of Urich, Missouri was born April 26, 1920 in Lincoln, Kansas the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Ida Viola (Giersch) Starks. She departed this life, Monday, November 5, 2007 at Westwood Nursing Center, Clinton, Missouri at the age of 87 years, 6 months and 9 days. On August 17, 1946 Mae was united in marriage to Carroll Creighton Cox in Olathe, Kansas.
Mae was a homemaker. She was a member of the Creighton Christian Church, Creighton, Missouri; the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Clinton, Missouri. She had lived in Lincoln and Osborne, Kansas and Clinton before moving to Urich, Missouri in 1947. Mae enjoyed her family, grandchildren, crossword puzzles and reading.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll on August 19, 2002; two brothers, Benny and Gerald Starks.
She is survived by three sons, Dorcy Conrad and wife, Diana, Versailles, Missouri; Jim Cox and wife, Sandi, Clinton, Missouri, Ray Cox and wife, Mary Anne, Urich, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, Gina, Jim, Donna, Tobby, Bart, John, Ashley, Tabitha, Tiffany, Stacey and Paul; eighteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Wanda Evelyn Flynn, Walnut Grove, California; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 9, 2007 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, MO with interment in the Grant Cemetery, Creighton, MO.
