Marilyn Joan Kimbell, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born May 8, 1930 in Pittston, Pennsylvania the daughter of Frank and Ida Pearl (Geiger) Miller. She departed this life on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Golden Years Care Services, Harrisonville at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 10 days.
Marilyn grew up in Pennsylvania and moved to the Kansas City area in 1953. On August 6, 1954, she was united in marriage to Joe Allen Kimbell in Kansas City, Missouri
Marilyn was a homemaker and lived in Independence, Missouri where she and Joe raised their family and built several of their homes. She was a member of Rockwood Baptist Church before retiring to Lake of the Ozarks in Edwards, MO where she then attended Colony Baptist Church. Marilyn enjoyed cooking for her family, playing the piano at church, fishing at the lake and spending time with her grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Kimbell on May 26, 2008; a son, Joseph Kimbell on February 14, 2010; a daughter, Pamela Kimbell on May 27, 2012; two brothers, Howard and Donald; two sisters, Doris and Evelyn.
Marilyn is survived by a son, Robert Kimbell and his wife, Shanda, 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville with burial in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
