Dr. Mark Allen Ludwig, 72 of Harrisonville, MO passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City. Mark was born March 17, 1952, in St. Joseph, MO to Donald S. Ludwig and Virginia Ludwig. He was married on August 6, 1972, for 51 years to Linda Ludwig. He has lived in Harrisonville since 1990. Mark served in the army from 1977 to 1980 as a flight surgeon and was awarded rank of Captain. He then graduated from the inaugural class at UMKC 6-year medical school program. Mark was an emergency room physician for 44 years at St. Joseph, Research Kansas City, Research Belton and later in life as a locum tenens who worked all over the state of Missouri. After many years of helping people and saving lives, he retired in 2020 and enjoyed taking care of his dogs, cats, and chickens and getting his barn constructed. His parents, and in-laws Dean and June Coffin preceded him in death. He is survived by; a wife, Linda Ludwig; a son, Michael and his wife Maria, their children, Tristan and Lyanna and daughter, Lacey Wathen and husband Charles and their children, Olivia, Annabelle, and Eleanor; a daughter Marilee Phillips and her husband Jamie and their children, Emily, Hannah, Kade and Kaegan. He is also survived by a sister, Janet Roberts and a brother, Kurt Ludwig.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with internment and Military Service at Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
