Mary Ann Jones, daughter of Grant Franklin and Mary Louise Spinning was born August 13, 1943 in Garden City, Missouri. She departed this life on August 6, 2011, at home in the presence of her loving family at the age of 67 years, 11 months and 24 days.
She was preceded in death by her father, Grant Spinning and brother, Danny Spinning.
Ann is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert Jones, of the family home; sons: Tim and Patty Jones, Kansas City, MO; Jim and Karla Jones, Harrisonville, MO; grandchildren: Ashley Coones, Weston, MO; Steven and Anne Jones, Harrisonville, MO; great-grandchildren: Clinton, Piper and Kenzie Coones and Hunter Jones; mother: Mary Lou Spinning, Harrisonville, MO; brother: David and Barbie Spinning, Garden City, MO; sister in law: Barbara Spinning, Garden City, MO and countless other family and friends.
Ann spent her early years helping out on the family dairy farm until her marriage to Robert on June 11, 1961. After their marriage she then worked as a homemaker and mother. She spent 16+ years working in various departments at Wal-Mart in Harrisonville, before retiring in 1995 to stay home and take care for her grandchildren. Ann was dedicated to many things in life: friends, her family and her love for gospel music and her faith in Jesus Christ. After many years of coping with Muscular Dystrophy and renal failure, Ann completed her race and won the ultimate prize.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Freeman Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, August 9, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice.
