Mary Josephine Brown

May 28, 1931 — September 27, 2020

Mary the daughter of W.J. Sr. and Josephine Mills of Garden City, Mo. She was born May 28, 1931 at Neosho, Mo. She passed away while living in Belton, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Richard, brothers James Richard of Neosho, Mo and W.J. Jr. of Harrisonville, Mo and sister Anne Grasher of Urich, Mo and sister-in-law Verna Mills of Garden City, Mo.

She is survived by her son Terry (Mary) of Raymore, Mo. Daughter Ellen Vining of Peoria, Az. Three grandsons Blake and Austin Brown and Christopher Vining (Alexandra). Two granddaughters Kristina (Quetin) Piveral and Laina Vining. Three great grandsons Dylon and Eldon Piveral and Cash Brown.

She is survived by brothers Leonard, Roy (Judy) and Theodore of Garden City, Mo, Ronald of Harrisonville, Mo, sister Rachel Hale (Ronald) of Shawnee, Ks along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

She attended grade school in Neosho and Garden City, Mo. She graduated from Harrisonville High School in 1950. She attended Kansas City Business College. Mary retired from Dit-Mco Int. in 1996. She returned to work in 1999 as anin home caregiver for 12 years. She thought her care giving years were some of the best years of her working life.

Mary loved making quilts, embroidering, gardening, canning and cooking. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Mary was also a deer hunter and trout fisherman.

Mary is a member of the Hickman Mills Christian Church.

May she rest in peace.

Cremation. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Charity of One's Choice or to the Children's Mercy Hospital.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
