Michael Alvin Burns, 72, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on September 25, 2025. He was born on August 15, 1953, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late Ernest A Burns and Silvia Burns
Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army as part of the 2nd Armored Division at Fort Hood, Texas. After his service, he became a skilled master plumber and went on to own and operate his own plumbing company. Known for his strong work ethic, Michael found joy in simple pleasures—especially spending time fishing and relaxing with a cold Miller Lite after a hard day’s work.
He is survived by his daughters, Rebekah Burns, Jamie burns; seven beloved grandchildren; his brothers Richard Burns and Jim Burns of Kansas City; and his sisters, Sharron Coulter of Tennessee and Patty Mayo of Texas. Michael’s memory will also be cherished by many extended family members and friends.
Michael will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to his craft, and the many stories and laughs he shared with those around him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Michael’s memory by raising a toast with a cold Miller Lite or spending a quiet day fishing—just as he loved to do.
Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2025 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
