Michael Kendall Carroll, born February 23, 1938, in Pittsfield, Illinois, passed away leaving behind a legacy of dedication, service, and love. He was the son of Joyce E. Carroll (née Kendall) and John E. Carroll.
Michael proudly served his country as a Navy veteran and later built a long, respected career as a Pipefitter. He was a life member of the Pipefitters Union, a testament to his skill, commitment, and the deep camaraderie he shared with his fellow tradesmen.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kaye Carroll (née Murphy), his brothers Earl and John Carroll, and his parents.
Michael is survived by his two children: his daughter Kathy and her husband Gerry Schlueter of Harrisonville, Missouri, and his son James and his wife Kim Carroll of El Mirage, Arizona. He was a proud grandfather to Ben Schlueter and his wife Abby of Raymore, Missouri, and Amy (Schlueter) Thomson and husband Jared of Pleasant Hill, Missouri. His joy extended to his three great-grandchildren: Case, Emi, and Lincoln, who brought him immense pride and happiness.
Michael found great enjoyment in life’s simple pleasures. He loved photography, horses, watching NASCAR, cheering on his St. Louis Cardinals, and relaxing while watching golf and fishing. These passions brought him comfort, excitement, and connection throughout the years.
He will be remembered for his steady presence, his dedication to family and craft, and the quiet strength he carried through life. His memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He will be laid to rest next to his wife at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Bunker Hill, Illinois, at a future date.
