Nancy Agans

Nancy was born on April 8, 1944, in Trenton, Missouri to Richard and Charlene (Grisamore) Flint. She peacefully departed this life on June 4, 2026, at the age of 82 surrounded by family and her beloved dog, Xena. Nancy lived the early part of her life in Grandview, Missouri before moving to Garden City where she lived until she passed her Heavenly reward.

At the time of her passing, Nancy had retired from her long-time career as a hair stylist and was living at her parent’s farm with her son. Nancy worked most of her life as a hairdresser in Grandview and as the owner of the Scissor Tique Beauty Shop in Garden City. Later in her life she worked in 3 different residential care facilities in the Garden City area, providing salon services for the residents. In addition, Nancy worked from home for several years for Tortel Products, Inc. as an independent production contractor; as well as working as a representative for Home Interiors.

Nancy was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority as well as being active in Eastern Star. She enjoyed performing from time to time with her husband, Ron, at the Wild West Shows at Mack’s Country; and was a member of the Hoot ‘N Holler Square Dance club in Harrisonville. Nancy also enjoyed traveling and hitting the casinos with her best friend, Lela, on several occasions.

Nancy’s greatest joy was time spent with her family who will always remember her as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. From helpful advice to hugs; cooking lessons to tickles; and her shoulder to cry on or her ability to be just as excited as the other person when something wonderful happened, she left us all with wonderful memories of being loved and cared for as individuals each special in our own way and always proud of our accomplishments.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Ron Agans; her parents, Richard & Charlene Flint; her sister, Karen Flint; her son, Leslie Dunkle; and her daughter, Jennifer Dunkle.

Nancy is survived by her son, Troy Dunkle of Garden City, Mo; daughter, Lisa Agans of Lincoln, NE; son, Eric Agans (Rachel) of Des Moines, IA); and sister-in-law Shirley Wilhite of Holt’s Summit, MO. In addition, Nancy leaves behind 10 grandchildren (Drew, Amanda, Zachary, Lance, Max, Richard, Skyla, Shayna, Chase, and Anthony.); and 12 great-grandchildren, (Cyla, Miya, Kayleigh, Aaron (Brown), AlecZander, Kolton, Lilyana, Tristan, Isaac, Levi, Kayla, and Aaron (Fox)); as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends to carry on her memories and loving nature while leaving us wondering how she always managed to flatten a cowlick, make the world’s most awesome pot roast, and always have time to show each person in her life that she loved them and cared for them each in her special way and to remind us all that when things are hard to, “Let Go and Let God.”

Cremation with a celebration of life will be held 12:00 p.m - 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2026 at Garden City Community Building, Garden City, Missouri.
