Nancy L. Nidiffer

February 12, 1950 — July 31, 2020

Nancy Lee Nidiffer, 70, of Kansas City, Missouri, was born, February 12, 1950, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the daughter of Lillard “Lee” J. Youell and Margaret H. (Brunke) Quesenberry. She departed this life, Friday, July 31, 2020, at the Research Medical Center, Kansas City.

On March 18, 1978, she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” C. Nidiffer in Kansas City. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2016.

Nancy was employed as a Horticulturist and Tropical Plant Specialist for the Suburban Lawn and Landscape Company for more than 20 years, retiring in January 2020. She had a loyal following and was a dedicated leader, teacher and anchor in her department. She enjoyed growing tropical plants in her home and delighted in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved animals, nature, collecting birdhouses and seashells and also supported many charitable organizations.She was gracious beyond many words, clever, devoted and beautiful in every way. In keeping with Nancy’s loving and giving spirit, it was her decision to donate life, so others may live it.

Nancy was also preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by two sons, Matt (and Deb) Brown of Austin, Texas and Robert Nidiffer of Kansas City; three daughters, Colleen Speers of Raymore, Jacque (and Robert) Long of Pleasant Hill, and Sara Caudill of Kansas City; 11 grandchildren: 2 great grandchildren; two sisters, Jackie (and Jim) Martley of Louisburg, Kansas and Ruth Bennett (and Russell Dobbins) of Belton; other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Funeral services were held Thursday, August 6, 2020, at the funeral home. Reverend D. Kent Deubner will officiate. Interment will be in the Lone Jack Cemetery. Casket bearers are Zack Terhune, Alex Prins, Chris Speers, Jim Martley, Russell Dobbins and Larry Streit.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Wayside Waifs and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
