Norma "June" Dooley

Norma “June” Dooley, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, prayer warrior, artist, and faithful servant of God, peacefully entered her heavenly home while surrounded by her loving family at her side. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, service, and devotion that will continue to influence generations.

June was born on February 11, 1939, in Versailles, Missouri, to Orvel Bellamy and Eula “Fern” Bellamy. She later graduated from High School while living in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. On May 19, 1957, she married the love of her life, William “Bill” Joseph Dooley Sr. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service to others.

Bill and June were blessed with nine children and one stillborn daughter, Sonya Joy Dooley. They made their home in Cass County, Missouri, where they raised their family and created a home filled with faith, laughter, prayer, and unconditional love. June spent most of her life as a devoted homemaker, faithfully caring for her family. Later, she worked as a Client Advocate at Hope Haven in Harrisonville, Missouri, where she compassionately served and encouraged those facing difficult circumstances.

June was much more than a mother and grandmother to her own family. She became a mother, grandmother, mentor, and friend to many people outside her family. Her door was always open, her heart was always available, and her ear was always ready to listen when someone had a burden on their mind.

A woman of deep and unwavering faith, June was known as a powerful intercessor and prayer warrior. She faithfully served her church throughout her life and carried a special burden for young people. She spent countless hours praying for the youth group and invested spiritually in generations of young men and women whose lives were forever changed by her prayers, encouragement, and example.

Sharing the Gospel was one of June’s greatest passions. During the final month of her life, she gave a Bible to every visitor who came to her home. It was deeply important to her that every person hear the Good News of Jesus Christ and know the hope she had found in Him. Her greatest desire was that all her family and friends would one day join her in Heaven.

June was also blessed with remarkable artistic talents. She enjoyed drawing, painting, sewing, quilting, and even writing jingles for a local radio station. She authored and illustrated the children's book, A Story of the Coffee Bean Family, combining her creativity with her gift for teaching and storytelling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orvel and Eula “Fern” Bellamy; her stillborn daughter, Sonya Joy Dooley; her husband of 55 years, William Joseph Dooley Sr.; her sister, Bonnie Zink; and her brother, Al Bellamy.

She is survived by her nine children: Tanya West; Arlana Dooley; Michael and Wendi Dooley; Adam Dooley; Janetta and Caleb Barrow, all of Harrisonville, Missouri; William Dooley Jr. and Amy Dooley of Garden City Missouri; Jeff and Shanda Dooley of Urich, Missouri; Carmelita and Andy Landers of Louisville, Kentucky; and Daniel and Carry Dooley of Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, her brothers Darrel Bellamy and Roy Bellamy and wife Mary, her sister Betty McKinnis, and many nieces, nephews, church family members, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing her.

June will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her servant’s heart, her creativity, and the love she freely gave to everyone she met. She had a unique ability to make people feel welcome, valued, and loved. Her prayers strengthened countless lives, and her legacy will live on through the family she cherished and the many people she influenced for Christ.

And for those fortunate enough to have ridden in a car with June, they will never forget her uniquely creative driving techniques—a memory that continues to bring smiles and laughter to those who loved her.

Though her family grieves her passing, they rejoice in knowing that her faith has become sight and that she now rests in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Having passed peacefully at home with her family by her side, June received the heavenly welcome she longed for throughout her life.

June’s life was a beautiful testimony of faith, prayer, love, and perseverance. Her greatest wish remains her family's greatest comfort: that one day all those she loved will be reunited with her in Heaven.

Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with interment at Clearfork Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.

Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
