Norma Jean Stuart, 87, of Bates City, was born, August 25, 1932, in Macon, Missouri, the daughter of Charles C. and Lora (Todd) Cook. She departed this life, Saturday, August 15, 2020, at her home.
Norma was a 1958 Macon High School graduate.
On October 25, 1949, she was united in marriage to Roy Albert Stuart in Clay County Arkansas. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1995.
While her kids were young she was a wonderful Homemaker. After the kids went to school she worked as a Book Keeper for Knight’s Auto Parts in Buckner. She had been a member of the A.B.W.A. in Blue Springs and the T.W.A. Lakers. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, and being outside working with plants and flowers.
Norma was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Donna Schlagle; and two sisters, Mary Helen Walters and Charlotte Craig.
She is survived by three children, Mary (and Andy) Schnell of Boonville, Laura (and Matt) Bainbridge of Bates City, and Charlie Stuart of Port Ritchy, Florida; six grandchildren, Thomas Schnell of Boonville, Sarah (and Shani) Reuter of Oklahoma, Nancy Schnell of Kansas City, Kansas, Melissa Schlagle and Geri Anne Schlagle both of Harrisonville, and Samantha (and Dewayne) Williams of North Kansas City, Nathan Shook of Independence; seven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Cremation has been accorded. Private burial will be in the Bates City Cemetery at a later date.
