Mrs. Patricia (Patti) Ann Wright of Raymore, MO, the daughter of Fred and Pearl Dickey departed this life Wednesday August 6, 2025 at Research Medical Center of Kansas City. Patricia passed at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 13 days.
Patricia was born in 1942 and was raised in Creighton, MO. On February 13, 1965 Patricia was united in marriage to Donald Wright of the United States Marine Corps, with whom she shared a love-filled partnership that lasted a lifetime.
Patricia channeled her compassion and dedication into a successful 37-years career as a realtor. She excelled in this, earning many awards throughout her career, built lasting friendships, and guided countless families into their new homes with care and enthusiasm.
She and Don spent their time between their homes in Raymore, MO and Largo, FL. Deeply rooted in their faith, they were active parishioners in both communities.
Together, Patricia & Don pursued many interests. They found joy in gardening, visiting the beach and entertaining their many friends and relatives with a warm meal or a cold beverage. They also loved traveling with friends and family, especially when joined by grandchildren.
Outside of helping people, Patricia extended her passion to wildlife, with memorable stories of helping rescue everything from small birds to a 600-pound manatee. She was an enthusiastic swimmer and fisher, taking advantage of her time at the beach, pool or lake. Being an avid reader and writer of letters, she showered her loved ones with them to be treasured.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Pearl Dickey, son Christian Wright, daughter Sarah Wright and brothers Freddie Dale Dickey, Jim Dickey and Jerry Dickey.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Donald Wright of the home(s), daughter Cheryl DeAngelo (Rocky), brothers Delmar Dickey (Jacqueline) and Richard Dickey (Beverly). To her eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, many cherished nieces and nephews she will always be known as “Memaw”.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Dickey Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO with a prayer service starting at 4:00 p.m.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Grant Cemetery in Creighton, MO.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly request donations to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Auxiliary Unit 2 of Kansas City, MO, or a donation to the Manatee Rescue program at ZooTampa – two causes close to Patricia’s heart.
Her legacy of love, generosity and joyful living will continue to inspire all who knew her.
