Mrs. Peggy Lou Gregg, of Creighton, Mo. was born May 4, 1930 at Creighton, the daughter of Harry Cornealius and Monta Louella (Staley) Goodson. She departed this life Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton, Mo. at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 24days.
On, December 29, 1947 Peggy was united in marriage to Donald Gene Gregg in Creighton, Mo.
Peggy was employed as a packer for Avon Manufacturing, Kansas City, Mo. for 25 years, retiring in 1989. She was a life-long member of the Creighton Christian Church. Peggy was a great giver of love and encouragement to family and friends and always had a word of understanding and wisdom for those in need. And though she loved to sit on her deck and watch the deer and other wildlife, her happiest moments were spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her beautiful voice when she and sister, Joy sang at many weddings and funerals in the community. Peggy had lived in Creighton until 1963 when they moved to Raytown, Mo. and returned to the family farm near Creighton in 1989.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Gene Gregg on December 12, 1999; a sister, Joy Salmon.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Chambers and husband, Ralph, Creighton, Mo.; 2 grandchildren; Donnie Chambers and wife Michelle; Lisa Chambers; 4 great-grandchildren, Bethany, Lindsey, Jessica and Trajun; a brother, Harry Goodson and wife Linda, Edwards, Mo.; a sister, Connie Moyer and husband George, Franklin, Tenn.; many nephews and nieces; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 2, 2007 at the First Christian Church, Creighton with interment in the Parker Cemetery near Creighton.
Family suggests contributions may be made to the First Christian Church memorial fund, Creighton or to the Parker Cemetery Association, Creighton and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
