Percy Webster Sr. of Peculiar, Missouri was born March 25, 1941 in Eudora, Arkansas the son of Pearly and Cora (Bannion) Webster. He departed this life on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 near Adrian, Missouri at the age of 67 years, 8 months and 21 days.
On November 17, 1958, Percy was united in marriage to Freddie Jean Mosby in Lake Village, Arkansas.
Percy was employed as a forklift operator for the Claycomo Ford Motor Co., Claycomo, Missouri for 37 years until his retirement in June of 2006. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a former Sunday School teacher at Jericho Baptist Church, Eudora, Arkansas. Percy loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed taking care of his children, going to any activity involving his grandchildren, working with his hands and mowing the lawn. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George and a sister, Polly.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Freddie Jean Webster of the home; five sons, Rodney L. Webster and wife, Valencia, Percy Webster Jr. all of Peculiar, Missouri, Terry W. Webster and wife, Kim, Harrisonville, Missouri, Jarrod McCubbin and wife April, Garden City, Missouri, Ernest Miner, Beaumont, Texas; a daughter, Valerie L. Webster, Orange Park, Florida; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Sam Brown and wife, Luci; two sisters, Ophelia Rodgers and husband, Johnnie, Mable Campbell and husband, E.J. all of South Bend, Indiana; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 20, 2008 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial at Orient Cemetery.
