Phyllis Elizabeth Czech

Phyllis Elizabeth Cecilia Czech passed away at her home in Kansas City, MO on June 10, 2025. Phyllis was born on February 22, 1952 in Odessa, Texas to Edmund A. Czech (Check) and Madaline J. Check.

Phyllis attended school at Blessed Virgin Mary, in Independence, MO, Queen of the Holy Rosary and Shawnee Mission North High School, in Overland Park, KS and graduated High School at Ferndale High in Michigan.

Phyllis had faith in Jesus and enjoyed singing with a small choir who performed at nursing homes and other events. Phyllis was a master at her love for sewing, crocheting, painting and a variety of craftworks. She loved to decorate for special occasions and holidays. In addition, she had a generous and sharing heart and frequently, freely gave away her artistic creations to others.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her father, Edmund Czech (Check), sister Kathy (& Robert) Tidwell and brother David Czech. She is survived by her mother Madaline J. Check, brothers Dennis (& Pamela) Czech, Dwight Check, Michael Czech and sisters Medina (& Roger) Davis and Edwina (& John) Burkett. Son, Jason (& Jenni) Czech and grand-children, Brandon and Tamara. Also, many cousins spread across the country. And of course, Phyllis’ kitty, Gigi.

Heavenly Father, we pray Phyllis is at peace in your comforting presence. “Jesus I Trust in You”

Cremation with a Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 11:30 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville, MO. There will be a Rosary service at 11:00 am before mass begins.

Visitation will be held 10:00-11:00 am Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville, MO
