Ed Leslie of Gila Bend, Arizona was born in Harrisonville, Missouri April 1, 1947 the son of Ralph Edgar Leslie, Sr. and Agnes Frances (Gilleland) Leslie of Gunn City, Missouri. He departed this life, Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Abrazo West Hospital in Goodyear, Arizona.
Ed graduated from Harrisonville High School in 1965. After high school, Ed began his lifelong career as a self-employed, Heavy Equipment Operator, Mechanic and Welder. This vocation led him to the West where he fell in love with the desert and a free-spirited wandering lifestyle.
Ed returned to Missouri in 1980 where he lived near Gunn City before moving near Drexel and then back to a farm near Gunn City. In late 2005 Ed could no longer resist the pull of the West and returned to Arizona where he found his final community of Gila Bend.
Besides his parents, Ed was proceeded in death by his brothers Winford W. Leslie, Gunn City, Missouri; Gary D. Leslie, Kingsville, Missouri; sisters Lulu Carnes, East Lynne, Missouri; Wanda Sehorn, Kingsville, Missouri and a grand-daughter-in-law, Abigail L. Powell, Grass Valley, California.
He is survived by his brother Robert O. Leslie, East Lynne, Missouri; his sister Mary (Walter) Hocker, Harrisonville, Missouri; Two sons Shannon O. Leslie, Garden City, Missouri; Casey E. Leslie (Elizabeth), Prescott, Arizona; a daughter Rebecca (James) Jackson, Warsaw, Missouri; Two Grandsons, Codie O. Leslie, Garden City, Missouri; Robert A. Powell, Grass Valley, California; Five granddaughters, Mackenzie L. Leslie, Garden City, Missouri; Ashley M. Ginnings, Gladstone, Missouri; Ella M. Leslie, Kansas City, Missouri; Abigail M. Leslie, Prescott, Arizona; Madison L. (Robert) Jackson, Marysville, California; One great-grandson, Izaac M. Chadwick, Gladstone, Missouri.
Graveside services were held Saturday, July 18, 2020 at the Gunn City Cemetery, near Garden City, Missouri.
