Ret. Staff SGT William "Bill" Elliott

William (Bill) Leon Elliott, 86, of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at his home. Bill was born January 16, 1937, in Cassatt, South Carolina. He proudly served 21 years in the United States Air Force before retiring and taking on a few different jobs throughout the years and eventually ending his career with final retirement at Owens Corning Fiberglass.

 

Bill was an amazing man who never met a stranger. He loved spending time at the lake with his family and going on yearly trips to Florida and South Carolina with his adored wife of 61 years, Nedra. Bill’s favorite pass time was golf in which he was able to accomplish the ultimate goal of making three holes in one. He also loved to bowl and was proud of his perfect game of 300. He was an active member of the Cass County Elks Lodge #2791 and loved them all as family. He will always be remembered by his infectious smile, silly personality, and funny remarks.

 

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his wife, Nedra M. Elliott; sister, Glenda Truesdale; daughter, Debra Socey; son, Jerry Elliott; daughter, Deanna Click (husband Jerry Click); son, James Elliott (wife Casey Elliott); and many Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and Great-Great-Grandchildren.

 

God saw you getting tired. And a cure was not to be.

So he wrapped his arms around you and whispered “Come to Me”.

With tearful eyes we watched and saw you pass away,

And although we loved you dearly, we could not make You stay.

 

Cremation with an Elks Absent Member Service by Cass County Elks Lodge #2791, Harrisonville, Missouri at 6:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life Service following on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.

 

Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
