Rev. Charles Leslie Reed

Charles was born in Hogan, MO on September 8th, 1940 to Joseph and Virginia Sherrill Reed. Charles Leslie Reed was dedicated to God's service by his mother. Un-be-knownst to him, he was destined to minister from the beginning.

Charles spent many years running the roads between Doe Run, Farmington and Elvins where he met the love of his life. He and Patricia Ann Hampton were married October, 23rd, 1959 in Hematite, MO.

After working in the newspaper industry for years, on a riverbank kneeling at a tree stump he answered God's call to the ministry in 1970.

He shared God's love and word across the state. Ministering to the communities of Elmo / Clearmont, Archie, Tipton / Fortuna, Lexington, Cassville and Saint Joseph, MO. where he and Pat made many friends.

After thirty one years of service, Charlie retired from the ministry and returned to Archie where he and Pat could be near their children and grandchildren.

Being a grandpa was second only to God and Pat. Charley, Laurie and Jeni gave them 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great-great grand daughter. All of them have kisses from Grandpa that '' will always be there".

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, but one day we will all meet in Heaven and celebrate our reunion.

A Celebration of Life Service was held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the United Methodist Church, 204 W. Chestnut St., Archie, Missouri.

A Visitation was held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the church.

The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
