Reva Mae Dunn, 86, beloved mother of five, died June 27, 2006, with her family by her side in Kansas City, Mo.
Mrs. Dunn was born December 16, 1919, in Garden City, Mo. She was a child during the Great Depression and had to endure many hardships. She graduated as Reva Mae Knight from Garden City High School. She spoke often of her passion for cooking and gardening.
Reva was proceeded in death by her parents, Opha and Eunice Knight, and her husband of 52 years, Jim Dunn. Mr. and Mrs. Dunn made Kansas City their home for 52 years and raised their children there. Mr. Dunn worked for General Motors for 42 years while Mrs. Dunn managed the home and children.
Mrs. Dunn is survived by her sister, June Fiormonti of Omaha, Neb.; three daughters and two sons: Jeanne Mason Chapman of Lenexa, KS, Pamela Miles of Kansas City, Debbie Dunn-Taylor of Kansas City, Michael Dunn of Springfield and Terry Dunn of Kansas City. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Reva's name to the Garden City Cemetery Association, PO Box 65, Garden City, MO 64747.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 29, at Dickey Funeral Home in Garden City, Mo. with burial in the Garden City Cemetery.
