Richard L. Borum

Richard Lee Borum of Independence, Missouri was born May 5, 1931 in Creighton, Missouri the son of Leland Kelly and Sarah Maye (Schneider) Borum. He departed this life in Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Pleasant Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center, Pleasant Hill, Missouri at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 3 days.
In 1953 Richard was united in marriage to Laura G. Olin and later married Stella M. Wilson in 1965.
Richard was employed as a plumber and later was employed by the Kansas City School District in the sheet metal department before his retirement. He was a member of Six Mile Baptist Church, Sibley, Missouri. Richard enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and playing bingo. He had moved from Independence to Pleasant Hill in 2013.
Richard is survived by five sons, Michael Borum (Marilyn), Colorado Springs, Colorado, Anthony Borum (Vera), Parker, Kansas, Joseph Borum (Susan) Kansas City, Missouri, Jerry J. Brown, Oklahoma, John A. Garrett, Missouri; two daughters, Bee Borum, Belton, Missouri, Cindy Davis (Gene), Sibley, Missoui; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dee Borum, Creighton, Missouri, Kelly Borum, Urich, Missouri; four sisters, Susie M. Romine, Salina, Kansas, Eula F. Bullard, Independence, Missouri, Joyce Hearting, Linn, Missouri, Sharon Firsick, Raytown, Missouri; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
