Richard Leroy Taylor of Harrisonville, Missouri was born February 4, 1942 in Butler, Missouri the son of Wilbur and Anna Mary (Petty) Taylor. He departed this life Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 64 years, 3 months and 20 days.
On, August 30, 1968 Richard was united in marriage to Annette Marie Atkinson in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Richard was employed as a real estate appraiser for the Cass County Assessor's office since 1998. Earlier he was employed for Western Electric, Lee's Summit, Missouri. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Butler, Missouri and was a Navy Veteran. Richard loved his family and his love was unconditional. He was never bored with life and lived life to its fullest. His many hobbies included, playing poker, building model airplanes, race cars, planes and making wood pens.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Taylor of the home; a son Charlie Truninger, Harrisonville, Missouri; four daughters, Denise Carter and husband, Ray III, Harrisonville, Missouri; Debbie Truninger, Harrisonville, Missouri, Karen Taylor, Allen, Texas, Ann Taylor, San Carlos, California; six grandchildren, Jason, Ruben, Nichole, Adam, Cyrus and Johnathan; his mother, Anna Taylor, Butler, Missouri; a brother, Tom Taylor, Butler, Missouri; three sisters, Julie McGuire, Belton, Missouri, Sandee Hubbard, Butler, Missouri, Vickie Taylor, Overland Park, Kansas; other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services were held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 27, 2006 at Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri with full Military Honors, under the direction of Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
