Robert Dale Wilmoth, 59, of Lees Summit, formerly of Pleasant Hill, was born, January 31, 1955, at the Memorial Hospital in Harrisonville, the son of Lillard C. and Betty Anne (Russell) Wilmoth. He departed this life at 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2014, at the Lees Summit Medical Center.
Robert was a 1973 Pleasant Hill High School graduate.
On September 1, 2001, he was united in marriage Joyce Wilson in Lee Summit.
Robert was employed early in his career as a mechanic for their family owned Phillips 66 service station on Metcalf Avenue in Overland Park. He then worked as a service writer for Royal Chevrolet in Harrisonville, and later for Don Kahan Chevrolet in Lees Summit. In his spare time he enjoyed music, history, Royals baseball, and was an avid golfer. He attended the Lees Summit United Methodist Church.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother Betty on November 24, 2007.
He is survived by his wife Joyce of Lees Summit; one step-daughter, Jessica (and Bryan) Stephenson of Overland Park; one grandson, Nick Stephenson of Overland Park; his father Lillard Wilmoth of Pleasant Hill; one sister Carson Anne Wilmoth of Pleasant Hill; one brother Todd Russell (and Linda) Wilmoth of Clinton, Illinois; other relatives and many friends.
Cremation has been accorded.
Memorial services were held Saturday, April 19, 2014, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Reverend Hubert Neth will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
