Romie Curtis Thompson departed this life on September 11th, 2025, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family.
Romie was born on July 22nd, 1954, in Kansas City, Kansas. At a young age his family moved to Harrisonville, Missouri where he resided and raised his family.
Romie was a man of many trades but made his profession starting with his late brother-in-law Bob Eisel as a dry wall finisher and later joined the union and worked for PCI until he retired. Although he retired, he continued to help many family members and friends with any dry wall needs right up until he couldn't work anymore.
Romie was a lover of anything outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, garden and support his family in any way that he could. He was a proud dad and grandpa and one of his favorite things to do was follow his grandchildren in their sports and rarely missed a game.
He is survived by his wife Lisa Thompson of the home, daughter Emilee Cumpton (Chancey), sons Henry Thompson (Mindy), Curtis Thompson (Brenda), Jacob Thompson (Shelby), Chance Thompson (Sam), and Andrew Thomspon. His grandchildren, Emma and Elisabeth Thompson, Tanner and Abigail Thompson, Jaxon Thompson, Stevie Cumpton, Oliver, Caden and Leah O’Shea and bonus grandchildren Presley, Shelby and Kaitlyn Newport. His siblings Jim Thompson (Karma), Jo Ann Huskey, Lois Gray (Jerry), Kay Eisel and Valerie Thompson. Along with sister in laws, brother in laws, many nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Clara Thompson, brothers John and Steve Thompson, sisters Edna Cunningham and Eva Snider and brother in laws Jim Huskey and Bob Eisel.
He left behind a legacy that will continue to live on through his kids and grandkids.
A celebration of life will be held from 2:00-5:00 PM on Sunday, September 21st, 2025, at the Archie Community building.
