Ron was born June 8, 1950 in Rushville, Illinois to Clifford and Loretta (Morrell) Agans. He peacefully departed this life on July 28, 2024 at the age of 74 surrounded by family. Ron lived in the Garden City area until he passed to his Heavenly reward.

At the time of his passing, Ron worked at First Stop in Garden City; however, Ron worked for most of his life in the auto parts business for various car dealerships in the area as well as free-lance mechanic work. For a number of years Ron also owned Ron’s Tow & Radiator in Garden City. In Ron’s younger years, he served as a Cass County Sheriff’s Deputy and was a member of the Fair Board planning the Garden City Fall Festival for several years.

When Ron had “free” time that he was not spending with his family, Ron enjoyed putting together model cars and collecting cowboy memorabilia. He enjoyed riding and training horses for many years. Ron was very active in planning & performing in Wild West Shows, including at Mack’s Country in Garden City; and was a member of the Hoot ‘N Holler Square Dance club in Harrisonville. Ron also enjoyed being a Boy Scout leader for many years.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford & Loretta; his sister, Karen Hagerman; brothers, Richard D. and Clifford L. Agans; brothers-in-law, Larry Wilhite and Ed Hagerman; step-children, Leslie and Jennifer Dunkle.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Nancy of the family home; sister, Shirley Wilhite of Holt’s Summit, Missouri; daughter, Lisa Agans of Lincoln, NE; son Eric Agans (Rachel) of Des Moines, IA; and son, Troy Dunkle of Garden City. In addition, Ron leaves behind 10 grandchildren (Skyla, Shayna, Chase, Anthony, Zachary, Amanda, Drew, Lance, Max, Richard); and 12 great-children (his “grandpuppies”) (AlecZander, Kolton, Lilyana, Aaron (Fox); Tristan, Isaac, Levi, Kayla, Cyla, Miya, Kaieligh, Aaron (Brown); as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends to carry on his memories, terrible jokes, important Grandpa information, like “how to milk a mouse” and tremendous amounts of love.
