Ronald “Ron” Wayne Finley, 81, of Harrisonville, Missouri, departed this life peacefully on May 10, 2026, at his home surrounded by the love of his family.

Ron was born on October 18, 1944, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Donald and Sara Finley. On August 6, 1965, he was united in marriage to Durinda A. Breedlove in Kansas City, Missouri, beginning a loving partnership that spanned many years.

Ron was a hardworking man who lived life to the fullest and never met a stranger. He will be remembered for his loyalty, his deep love for his family, and his fun-loving spirit. A longtime member of Harrisonville Nazarene Church, Ron was also one of the founders of the Harrisonville Church of the Nazarene Car Show, a community tradition he proudly supported and enjoyed for many years. Alongside his wife, Durinda, he was an active member of the Harrisonville Road Runners, sharing his passion for classic cars and fellowship with many dear friends. Ron also proudly owned and operated C&R Customs, where his talent, knowledge, and love for automotive work left a lasting impression on countless people throughout the community.

He had a deep passion for hot rods, muscle cars, and all things automotive. Ron also enjoyed hunting, spending time outdoors, and sharing good times with family and friends. Whether working on cars, attending car shows, or simply gathering with the people he loved most, Ron treasured every moment.

Above all else, Ron loved his family deeply and will be remembered for the laughter, stories, and memories he shared throughout his life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Durinda A. Finley of Harrisonville, Missouri; his children, Gayla Sommerer and husband Mark of Pittsburg, Kansas, Craig Finley and wife Burie of Greenwood, Missouri, and Erin Rencher of Jefferson City, Missouri; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Don C. Finley and Sara E. Phillips Finley, and his daughter, Kirstine Rochelle Finley.

Ron’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Harrisonville Church of the Nazarene, Harrisonville, Missouri.

Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Harrisonville Church of the Nazarene, Harrisonville, Missouri.

Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harrisonville Church of the Nazarene Memorial Fund for the car show. Donations may be sent to Dickey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 432, Harrisonville, Missouri 64701.
