Russell Bryant Dunn of Everton, Missouri was born March 6, 1924 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of August V. and Elsie (Moore) Dunn. He departed this life Sunday, December 4, 2005 at his home at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 28 days.
On May 9, 1946, Russell was united in marriage to Helen Louise Gulick in Kansas City, Missouri.
Russell was a retired Marine veteran after 20 years, a retired service technician for Sears in Kansas City, Missouri after 21 years and a 1941 graduate of Northeast High School, Kansas City, Missouri. For over 30 years, he was a member of the First Baptist Church, Creighton, Missouri and the last four years he was a member of the New Home Baptist Church, Everton, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Dunn of the home; two daughters, Barbara Carnagey and husband, Pete, Everton, Missouri and Sharon Wiley and husband, Doug, Kansas City, Missouri; a son, Edwin Bryant Dunn, Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Doug and Kierstin Stadier, Dan and Jennifer Carnagey, David and Tracey Carnagey and Allison and C.J. Bird; five great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 8, 2005 at the First Baptist Church, Creighton, Missouri with burial in the Grant Cemetery near Creighton, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Church Memorial Fund or the National museum of the Marine Corps.
