Mrs. Ruth Ann Dryden, of Garden City, Missouri, was born November 6, 1940 in Mexico, Missouri, the daughter of Chester and Laura (Pierce) Buffington. She departed this life Sunday, April 15, 2007, Adrian Manor Nursing Home, Adrian, Missouri at the age of 66 years, 5 months and 9 days.
On September 16, 1961, Ruth was united in marriage to James Allen Dryden in Mexico, Missouri.
Ruth was a homemaker and a former cashier at the 7-Stop Convenience Store, Garden City. She attended the United Methodist Church, Garden City. Ruth enjoyed going to the Old Cedar Restaurant, loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She moved to Garden City in 1963.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Wayne Dryden on November 6, 1964; a brother, Bob Buffington and a sister, Virginia Parrott.
She is survived by her husband, James A. Dryden of the home; a son, James L. Dryden and wife Aimee, Adrian, Missouri; four grandchildren, Crystal Penniman and husband Dan, James P. Dryden, Jeremy Dryden and Scott King; a great-grandson, Tyllen King; other family in Germany, relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2007 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
