Ruth Gertrude (Trudy) Hoshor, formerly of Garden City, MO, was born April 7, 1928 in Maryville, Missouri; the daughter of Carl Harlon and Elsie Blanch (Parmer) Kissinger. She departed this life on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at St. Luke's East Hospital in Lee's Summit, Missouri at the age of 83.
On December 29, 1946, Trudy was united in marriage to Dean Daryl Hoshor at the home of her parents in Maryville, MO.
Trudy enjoyed sewing and made gingham dolls for her children and grandchildren. She crocheted dresses for fashion dolls, many given to her children and friends. After a trip to the Precious Moments Chapel in Carthage, Missouri, she began collecting Precious Moments dolls.
Trudy catered weddings and made many wedding, birthday, and anniversary cakes. She enjoyed traveling with Dean in their camper and later settling in Harlingen, TX. Trudy was devoted to her family and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the great grandchildren.
Trudy is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Helen Young; her brother, Harley Kissinger; her husband, Dean Daryl; and two sons, Jerry Dean and Randy Daryl.
She is survived by four children, Carla Vogt and husband Michael of Urich, Missouri; Mark Hoshor and wife Norma of Headland, Alabama; Neva Allen and husband Roy of Knob Noster, Missouri; Danny Hoshor and wife Vickie of Raymore, Missouri; 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 3, 2011 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri. Burial will be in the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
