Shane E. Hedges

Shane Edward Hedges, 45, of Kansas City, Missouri, was born July 13, 1971, in Harrisonville. He departed this life Monday, September 5, 2016, in Kansas City.
Shane grew up in Raytown and attended Raytown High School. On October 5, 1991, he was united in marriage to Kimberly Sue Burt.
He was a gifted small engine repairman owning and operating his own machine shop at his home. He enjoyed working on cars, Motocross racing, and was an avid Chiefs fan; he especially loved drinking a cold Dr. Pepper.
Shane is survived by his mother Jennifer (and Evan) Woodworth of Pleasant Hill; three children, Kristopher Hedges of Independence, Kaleb Hedges and Katelyn Hedges, both of Raytown; one brother, Shad Rehms of Gravois Mills; two sisters, Sherri Hedges and Shannon Jensen, both of Kansas City; his ex-wife Kimberly of Raytown; 6 nieces and 4 nephews; other relatives and a host many friends. He was preceded in death by one sister, Shalene Rena Hedges and his maternal grandmother Claudine Larimer.
Visitation was held Saturday, September 10, 2016, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 11, 2016, at the funeral home. Reverend J.R. Brown will officiate. Honorary casket bearers Tyler Fanning, Chris Grafton, Kaleb Hedges, Kristopher Hedges, Scott Keesler, Kyle Rehms, Shad Rehms, and David Williams.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the children and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Checks may be made payable to Jennifer Woodworth.
