Sheila K. Leuty of Montrose, Missouri was born October 18, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri the youngest child of Lawrence Edward and Rosalee (Claypool) Gash. She departed this life on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at her home surrounded by love and family at the age of 58 years, 6 months and 9 days.
On November 1, 1980, Sheila was united in marriage to Tommy Ray Leuty in Garden City, Missouri.
Sheila was employed as a bartender and waitress. She volunteered as a Boys Scouts Den Mother and Scorekeeper for the Garden City Baseball league and had received many plaques for her volunteer work. Sheila enjoyed collecting roosters and unicorn figurines, watching her soap operas, playing on the computer and playing bingo. She loved her cat and dog, her friends and family, especially her granddaughters.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Baldwin and Diana Wagner.
Sheila is survived by her husband Tommy Leuty of the home; two sons, Richard L. Leuty of the home and Tommy Dean Leuty and wife Melissa, Clinton, Missouri; two granddaughters, Bailey and Madison; a brother, Terry L. Gash and wife Glenda, Harrisonville, Missouri; several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large family and many friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Byler Cemetery near Creighton, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Heartland Hospice and may be left at the funeral home.
