Steve Jenkins

Steve Jenkins, of Bucyrus Ks, left the party,  4/18/2023. It was a bit of an Irish goodbye while a toast was being lifted in his honor by family and friends at his home, but a proper hooley did follow with memories and love abounding. He was born in Manchester CT, 5/21/1962, the son of Jean Dougherty and Dick Jenkins .  After several family moves, Steve landed in Kansas and graduated from SMW in 1980.

Steve left his wife of too many years, Kathy and greatly admired son Matthew.  Neither could have asked for a better man.  Sister Suzanne and Ted Frigon, with the nephews Gerard and Nicholas in Ct.

He started his career at Telecable/Time Warner/Spectrum in 1985. There he worked up to being a supervisor and was a friend, leader and mentor to many.  Now we have to say that #36 has silenced his radio.

In life Steve was patient and loving, kind and generous. Many times called, Dr Doolittle because there were few animals that did not take a liking to him. He has left his cats, Kishu, Nico and Hombrecito wandering the home wondering when Papi will come back.

Steve loved adventures. Jumping from airplanes, diving into the depths of the sea, any boating excursion he could take. He loved fishing but never got that big bass. He had more guns than his wife had shoes. His Jeep Shitbox was a love to drive and wheel. He was a great wheeler with much finesse.

It is known that Steven accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and he is now in Heaven with God. There the fish are always biting, the tide is always high, powders always fresh and you don’t need a spotter because you always have the right line.

A visitation will be held at Dickeys Funeral Home in Harrisonville Mo. May 20 4-5:30. The after party will be at Timber Creek restaurant in Louisburg Ks, 6:00.  He would not want money wasted so there will be no flowers. Donate to:  Always and Furever Pet Sanctuary in Spring Hill Ks or PADI Power ocean conservation foundation. If donations are not your thing plant a tree in his honor please.

Memorial contributions may be made to Always & Forever Midwest Animal Shelter and may be sent in care of Dickey Funeral Home, P.O. Box, Harrisonville, Missouri.
